Vaccine Injury Compensation Canada

Canada Has No Vaccine Injury Compensation Program.
Why not?

Did you know:
  • Every year hundreds of Canadians are accidentally injured or even killed by government recommended vaccines.
  • These injuries can lead to hospitalizations, costs of insured medical care and rehabilitation, loss of income, long-term disability, loss of a family member and funeral expenses.
  • Canada is one of only two G20 nations that does not have a national vaccine injury compensation program.
  • Quebec is the only province that offers such a program.
  • Canadians can't get compensation for injuries through a court of law because judges cannot rule that someone was at fault in these cases due to the way Canadian law is written.
  • Canadians can't bring a class action suit against a vaccine manufacturer in Canada because Canada has passed legislation protecting manufacturers from being sued.
  •  Therefore:
  • When someone is seriously injured or dies because they participated in a government recommended or mandated vaccination program and the government protects the manufacturer from liability, then the government should provide compensation for the injuries sustained.

A vaccine injury can happen to anyone

Bob Martin, a resident of Victoria, BC, experienced a severe vaccine injury following a flu shot in 2009. The vaccine caused Guillain Barre Syndrome, a rare autoimmune disease which can lead to progressive paralysis and death.

Bob was an extremely healthy man, and a fitness instructor at the Oak Bay recreation centre.

He became completely paralyzed and ended up on a ventilator in the ICU for three and a half months and in a rehabilitation centre for another four and a half  months.

During and after this time he learned that there was no such thing as a vaccine injury compensation program for Canadians and set out to create one by contacting polititians and by starting a petition. He received hundreds of replies from other injured Canadians. You can see his petition and the comments here.

Canada needs a vaccine compensation program

Bob has decided to try and help create a vaccine injury compensation program for Canada. The purpose of this website is to promote awareness of this issue and to provide information and a platform for those injured.

The government is aware of the need for a vaccine injury program. In 2011 a report written by Jennifer Keelan, assistant professor at the University of Toronto's Dall Lane School of Public Health and Kumanan Wilson of the Ottawa Hospital Research Insititute at the University of Ottawa argue that because vaccination is a cornerstone of public health and strongly encouraged - even mandatory in some cases - there is an ethical obligation to compensate people in those instances when they suffer disability or death as a result. They argue that Canada should create a no-fault compensation plan.

You can read the full report
here.
